John Williams
John Williams was born in 1932 in Floral Park, New York. John has composed some of the most notable scores in history, spanning over the last six decades. Some of his most known scores include the theme from Jaws, the entire score for E.T., and the first three Harry Potter films. John considers himself to be a composer, conductor, and pianist. The piano is the first instrument that John learned to play, eventually leading him to his career in music composition. In addition to film scoring, John also composes contemporary classical music, Jazz, and post-romantic music. In 2000, John was inducted into the Hollywood Bowl hall of fame. In 2016, he will receive the AFI Lifetime Achievement Award, which honors individuals who have greatly contributed to the American Film Institute.
